A New Year
Happy New Year everyone! I have spent the last several months just relaxing and enjoying my life. Things are good for me, so wallowing in it was a great way to appreciate all that I have had this past year.
I have also has some time to think about knitting as a craft, and where I want to go with it. I still have ideas and projects to share, patterns I want to write up and things I want to learn and try with fibre arts. Because of all there still is for me in the hobby, I do want to keep this place active and share more. Breaks are nice - but it’s also nice having a community online that is broader than my personal knitting community.
This coming year holds a lot of promise for me creatively. There will be colourwork.

(Snowbird mittens, knit in Elsbeth Lavold Silky Wool)
Even if we could do with a little less snow…
There will also be a lot of sock knitting.

(Spring Thaw Socks by Cat Bordhi, knit in Dream in Color Smooshy)
Beautiful, intricately detailed socks.
Socks that fit well and are made with gorgeous yarn.
And there may even be some weaving.

(My first weaving! Made out of my handspun and some Habu Textiles silk)
So with all the excitement, and even a new fibre art or two, I can’t wait to get into this new year and see what I can make of it.

Those socks are beautiful! I hope to try weaving soon (asked for a table loom for Christmas, but alas, did not get one…).
