About Work and Spinning, For Once
It looks like the job search, which has a record one week long “active phase”, is over. After a weekend of mulling over some offers, I chose a job at an eCommerce company and am really excited. It’s something new and different for me and should be pretty engaging. I don’t start until July 2nd, which still gives me plenty of relax and slack off time. The best part is that it’s slacking and relaxing while knowing I have a job - so I feel secure AND lazy. You can’t beat that.
It’s been a while since I’ve done it, but I am actually doing a bit of spinning on my Pele’s Hair drop spindle. I purchased some silk a ways back and thought I should get some use out of it.
I really love this spindle, and the more I use it the more I am reminded that spinning really is a part of this whole fibre hobby that I enjoy. Am I going to make a special day for spinning? No, not yet… However, if I do end up with that Mazurka wheel I’ve been dreaming about, maybe then.
I have gotten a bit of knitting done, but nothing spectacular. Mostly finishing up some odds and ends I’ve had laying around the house and working on the damn cabled grey socks. I think these socks may be the ones that have been on my needles the longest. I’ve knit quite a few things in between them, but as someone who generally doesn’t have a load of projects on the go at a time it’s weird to still be dealing with these. Is it bad that I am almost hating them and kinda wanting them to go away? Don’t tell them. I do think they’re pretty, I’m just… over them. Oh, my fickle heart.
I’m sure once I get them actually on my feet I will feel differently.
