Ahhhhh

The cabled socks are done. DONE. Finished. Complete. Whole. And yes, pretty. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures. I just finished them then ran here to exclaim my triumph over the size 1 needles. It’s odd - I love knitting socks and almost always have a pair going at any given point in time, but I totally hate knitting that second sock. It’s just so painful.

I will be posting pictures and the pattern later this week.

My travel knitting has been the razor lace cami the past couple days and I do feel like there is progress being made. It’s just s l o w . Here is a picture from a day or two ago.

Razor Lace Tank

Trust me, it looks pretty much the same. I am a little worried about the size. The yarn is REALLY stretchy, but I tend to pull it a lot while I am knitting. This means it’s very… shrunken. It does stretch out when I pull on it, but I am wondering if it will feel more like a corset than a tank.

And I owe you guys something. The announcement of the first Secret Surprise and a Special Prize contest. Shannon won, with her guess of a beach cover-up! I had a BBQ at my house this last weekend and needed to work something up quickly in case I was getting too much sun at the beach.

What is the prize?

Stash Yarn - Tahki Chat

The leftover yarn! Don’t get too excited, Shannon. There are only two full balls and 3/4 of another left. But that is enough to be creative with. The yarn was Tahki Stacey Charles “Chat”. It is a cotton tape yarn that is surprisingly soft. I really enjoyed working with this yarn, I hope Shannon will as well!

It was fun having a little contest on the blog and I plan to do it again, ideally on a monthly basis. I also would love to get home with enough time to take pictures of my knitting progress one of these days.

And as a final note, this last Monday I had a meet up with some people from Ravelry. It was a good time. Restaurants were rearranged, food was eaten, beers were drank, cabs were taken. All in all highly enjoyable and definitely something I am going to try and make every Monday. So thanks, Ravelers, for such a good time! *waves*
