Another Triplicate
I am just so behind in posting my FO’s (and so ahead of the knitting game at the moment) that I decided to bring you another post with three similar items. Scarves! What could be better than waking up the week before Christmas and seeing over a foot of snow outside your door? A nice scarf to wear while exploring all that snow! New England got pwned last night with weather. While I think it’s awesome because it’s the first big snow of the year, I know that by the beginning of March I will hate hate hate it, no matter how many nice scarves are around my neck.
First up, a scarf out of handspun that was a gift for my mother’s birthday. You may recall a hat and flap mittens made out of the same yarn, her set is now complete! Simple garter stitch on size 5’s, the roving was Hello Yarn’s “warmed” merino. So squishy!
Sorry, I realize some of my pics have been on the dark side lately, I can’t tell during editing and then I am too lazy to fix them afterwards. Heh.
Next up, a scarf I made for my yoga teacher Lauren. She’s so super great I just had to do something for her. This is out of GGH Aspen. I chose a faux cable pattern that is reversible. It’s basically a 2×2 rib with a crossed stitch on every fourth row on one side, and then the next row on the other. Kinda reminds me of water!
And for the last in the threesome today, a scarf for my friend Matt made out of Reynold’s Odessey. You know, this yarn is WAY underrated and used. It’s soft, beautiful colours, knits up well, and is interesting to knit because of the variations in the plys. Why don’t more people have mad love for this stuff? I am a total convert now.
That isn’t Matt, by the way. That is Dan, helping me out with some modelling. Everyone wave to Dan!
