Before I Forget
I wanted to post last night, but for some reason my blog was not accessible. Bad host, bad!
So the socks I was working on are done. It didn’t take me very long from start to finish, and I was in such a rush that I have already gifted them. Sadly, I gifted them before I remembered to take any pictures of them. They were basically a sock with pointelle lace on them. So yeah, those are done.
I have started a new project on my loom. See?
I got the warp set up in an hour one night. The next day I began weaving and finished it the same day! But I don’t have finished pics yet. It’s drying after being washed. More details to come, but man is weaving fast! I could really burn through some stash - not that I can tell whether that is a good or a bad thing.
I don’t usually have a load of projects going at a time as I like to finish things. I am trying to get a project from this summer over and done. This one has been kicking around since the summer, it’s the Medallion Cardigan (rav link) from Vogue Knitting. I fell in love with the pattern but as everything I make with cotton depresses me in the end I thought it would be bad to splurge on cotton yarn. Instead I’m using Knit Picks Cotlin. It seems to be working okay, we’ll see how I feel once it’s all together. I have never liked anything made out of cotton so let’s hope the linen helps, or the project realy does suit cotton yarn.
I am hoping that because this has no sleeves that I won’t feel like a pack mule. Why is cotton so heavy? It looks like clouds but feels like shackles.
I am on the last ball of yarn out of 8 balls, so it’s nearly time for seaming. Normally I enjoy the seaming process but because I am seaming vertical to horizontal on this piece I am not really as excited as I should be. It’s kind of an endless pattern, being near the end should make my heart beat faster and bring extra speed to my needles. Instead I am just worried that I will be seaming, then pulling it out, and re-seaming, then pulling it out… wish me luck.
