Boy Am I Exhausted

I have a cold. This is not good. I am tired and lazy, but I am getting knitting done. It’s not because of the cold that I haven’t posted all week, that was just due to me being so darn busy at work and at home. Despite not writing an entry, I did manage to get the Grey Cabled Socks pattern up on here, take a look in the sidebar! Please let me know if you knit them and find any errors in my pattern.

I’ve been working like crazy on the Jaywalkers, which is my travel project. It’s nice to have this for the trains to and from work, the lively and bright colours are very cheery. The first sock is finished, and when trying it on I noticed it’s really tight. REALLY tight. I made the larger size, and it’s still just very snug. I will try to stretch them a bit with a wet blocking once I have finished both. What would be ideal is if the pattern was written with the lack of stretch taken into account. But now that I have finished one whole sock, I am not going to tear it all out again. They are super cute, though!

Progress has also happened on my Tongue River Farm socks.

I love these. I love this yarn. I love this pattern. They are just great all around. This is the first time I have done this type of heel, where I increase THEN do short rows. I think I like it. I did some funny yarn-switching working across the turns though, I think I will tear out to the beginning of the heel turning and work it again. Not a huge loss for perfection! And because I am planning on submitting these to the Topsfield Fair this year, I would really like them to be as good as they can be.

For the last piece of eye-candy, I started some Baby Bell Bottoms out of Adrian’s amazing yarn. Too cute! I have knit a bit more this afternoon since this picture was taken, I am now about to cast on for the second leg. Eeee, adorable.

Your Tongue River socks are awesome with, uh, awesomeness. I thought that their yarn looked really cool, but I never heard about it, or had anyone talk about using it. So based on what you’ve said, sounds like it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get some? So, thank you!
