Cooked Snails
Or, done snails. I love love love them. Once the Rowan Tweed was washed it really softened up. They also smell deliciously like the “Evening Garden” scent of Soak. God I love that stuff.
Tee hee! I can’t get enough of them.
I have been making progress in other things as well. In fact, I had a very knitting and fibre oriented weekend! The buttons have been sewn onto the Buttony Sweater and pics of that will be forthcoming. All day Sunday was spent dying yarn and fibers. Heidi and Becky from the knitting group came over and we went a little nuts. I dyed a pound and a half of fibre and two big hanks of sock yarn. Heidi dyed enough yarn for two sweaters, and a pound of fibre. And Becky dyed some lovely alpaca yarn.
I was a little obsessed with teal, black and brown. From the left to right: 8 oz. superwash 80’s merino roving in teal, grey and white; merino superwash sock yarn dyed to stripe in deep teal and chestnut brown; 8 oz. superwash 80’s merino roving in teal, brown and black; 8 oz. bamboo merino mix roving in brown.
Here is a better shot of the sock yarn, which I am aching to get on some needles. It should stripe when I knit it, so plain socks will most likely be in order, perhaps with an afterthought heel to preserve the striping?
And yes, there is even some spinning going on. I received the December fiber club from Adrian and it’s pure perfection. Doing some laceweight with it, it’s a 50/50 merino soy silk blend called “Frosted Forest”.
I hope everyone had a lovely holiday season that was filled with plenty of knitting, spinning, dying or crafts of your choice. I think 2008 is going to be a great year for me. In fact, even my New Years Day breakfast seemed lucky, check out my double yolked egg!

I love the mittens - they are beautiful.
Funny you posted a picture of those eggs - today I cracked open an egg and it was exactly the same - two yolks in one shell.
Hee Hee.

I love the colors you chose for your mittens. I’m tempted to copy you a little. Great job! I have been staring at my Frosted Forest all week and I’m tempted to start spinning it right away! I think it definitely calls for laceweight.
