Day of Socks
So here they are, bask in the glory that is socks that are no longer on my needles:
The free pattern will be up sometime next week. They didn’t take up a full ball of Knitpicks Essential, so if you have feet bigger than size 7 then you would have enough to knit up to at least size 10.
Speaking of socks, I just got a new sock kit in the mail from Tongue River Farms. It’s three MASSIVE hanks of yarn and six gorgeous patterns. Totally worth it even though they do not accept Paypal (you have to email them to place an order and then send a check). Don’t worry, shipping is fast and it took less than two weeks for the entire process to happen.
The thing I like best about this yarn and the patterns is that they are so natural. The yarn is sheepy, it has natural loft, and there is no nylon. None. It’s 100% wool. These are socks for skiing chalets in the middle of winter. For fires and for sleds and for big winter boots. My feet want!
It’s gorgeous, isn’t it? Here is some more.
And here is the pattern book, six patterns that are all fantastic. I’ve started the ones with the sheep circling the cuff. They are the ones at two o’clock.
I think if the socks come out how I am hoping they will I can use them as part of my Topsfield Fair Submission.
