I’m Old
It’s been a busy past few days around my house. My birthday was on Monday and cake was had. There were also presents, but the only one you will probably care about is this one:
I know, I can’t actually use it until I finish up all the things that are nagging me at the moment. But things are being finished! I have been “editing” one of my previously knit sweaters to fit better. It’s actually working! I should have it done tomorrow (if I focus), washed and dried this weekend, and ready for wear next week. If it’s dry by Sunday I will try to convince the knitting group that we need to have a “take pictures of each other because our husbands don’t understand” day.
I’ve also been trying to spin up some merino roving I had in my stash. The colours are great, the yarn is soft, but I have a confession that may get me disbanded from the Spinners Secret Society of Cool Kids. I don’t like to spin merino. It’s springy. I kinda hate it, actually. I want the yarn to pull and feel like it’s moving. This stuff feels like I am dragging it away from itself. And it’s also the longest two ounces I have ever spun. The bad news? I have 6 more ounces to do.
But see? I bet it will really be gorgeous yarn. What I will go through for pretty yarn doesn’t really have any limits.
My stash diet is going so well that I am surprising myself. I can actually NOT BUY YARN and still breathe! Who knew? I did get the aforementioned Polwarth roving in, which I bought before the stash diet, so you can’t get mad at me. It’s deliciously soft and I am so glad that I have enough for a whole sweater. I can’t wait to get going on this! Damn merino, taking up my spinning time.
In a weird bit of additional news, my shoulder and arm have been bothering me for well over a week now. I have no idea what it is, but it sucks. I will be at the doctor’s tomorrow, either begging for pain meds or some sort of miracle surgury. Wish me luck!

I’m sorry I totally forget to say Happy Birthday! I hope your arm feels better. Sounds like maybe a pinched nerve?

Good luck at the doctor’s today! Hope it feels better soon. Can you at least knit as it is?
