In Looooooooooooove!
I have never before used Rowan Felted Tweed. I gotta tell you, I’m in love.
It’s not just the yarn, of course. The pattern, found in The Book of Yarn, is KICK ASS. I had to make a few edits due to the yarn change and the fact that I have baby-sized mutant hands, but the snails are intact. I LOVE THE SNAILS. A lot. It’s a little disturbing how much I am digging these mittens.
And yeah, that ummm… that is new yarn. I bought yarn. It has been over two months, and I bought LOTS of yarn. Not just some. About $160.00 in yarn. In the past this was not a big amount. But compared to my yarn budget (which has been $0.00) this is a big step up. Can I say it felt FABULOUS? It was really great. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I think that I will always hold off on buying yarn so I can splurge on it sporadically and have it actually feel good instead of guilt-inducing. I still have plenty of stash to knit through anyways.
So what else did I get? Four balls of Rowan 4 Ply Soft in different colours, for more mitts of the colourwork/selbu/estonian variety, 4 hanks of Cascade Ecological Wool for a cabled sweater at some point, and two hanks of Alpaca Sox yarn. Ahhh, the glory of stash enhancement.
I also have a better pic of the “Toxic” sock yarn, all hanked up. There was no excuse for the crappy pic in the last post, the colours were so off it confused me to look at it. Here is what the yarn really looks like:
Tonight I may actually get buttons to sew onto my Buttony Sweater. It’s about time, the thing has been sitting there, entirely finished but without buttons, for three weeks now.
