Ouch

I think I need new pillows. For the past month or so I wake up with a sore neck. It went away for about a week, but it’s back with a vengence and it super sucks. Do any of you have a good suggestion for a pillow for a side and back sleeper? Please help!

It’s not going to be all about whining on this blog, though I do have one more complaint. The sun sets really early here in New England, and even earlier in the fall and winter. If I leave work early I get home at twilight, so the blog pics will be heading down in quality. The proof?

Baby Jacket

The Baby Surprise Jacket. It just needs some finishing. Note how yellow and crap-tastic the picture looks. I should have screwed with the white balance more. But I love the little squish thing and can’t wait to seam and block the crap out of it. It’s for a 4 month old monster baby that has a 18 inch chest circumference. My jacket measures 9 inches across, so I am pretty much there. It’s garter, I am sure I can easily get another inch or two out of it for some ease. The lace blocking wires will be coming out this weekend!

I started a new pair of socks for my travel knitting, out of some more Hello Yarn. Yes, I do knit things that Adrian didn’t make. Just not right now.

Worry Doll Socks

Again with the white balance crap-tastic-ness. This pattern is called Mad Color Weave and it’s pretty cool! I was hoping it would really split this yarn up as I love how it looks in the hank, but I’m getting swirls. It’s okay, I am getting more used to it, but I just loved how it looked all together so much. See?

Stash Yarn - Hello Yarn "Worry Doll"

But it’s still great. I just can’t rip out this much sock because of the swirling. And if both socks swirl (which I am thinking they kind of have to as they will both be knit from the same hank) then it won’t be so bad. Besides, if it wasn’t swirling I am assuming it would pool or something. And yes, I could have knit one row from each end of the wound cake, but that is just really annoying.

Oops, I guess I didn’t have only one more complaint. Well, isn’t it fun to come to my blog and read a bunch of whining instead of me actually being pro-active and thinking of solutions to my problems? Sorry folks, guess I’m having a bit of an off day.

And, some purchases. Of course. The last ones before Rhinebeck, I promise (which will mean nothing to me if I happen upon some gorgeous yarns I just have to have, so take my promise with a grain of salt).

Jaegar Stash Yarn

Jaeger Merino. MMmmm. I had to get it because it’s being discontinued.

Stash Yarn - Rowan

Rowanspun 4 ply. It’s really thin! I hadn’t seen this yarn in person ever, but I bought it anyways. This should not surprise anyone who knows what an internet addict I am. I had to get this because it was a good deal. At least I attempted to save money in a way.

Please don’t forget your pillow suggestions, or you can look forward to a lot more “sore neck” posts.

Ha! If you were reading my blog last year I had about 4+ months of sore neck posts. A couple of months or so of physical therapy, a few months of disability leave from my job and a lot of bitching. I’m still using the pillow I got from my physical therapist (paid for by insurance) and it’s great. It’s the kind that has a ditch to fit your head in the center. The two long edges are different heights to fit different neck/heads and the sides have support for being on your side. I do combine mine with a pillow behind to raise it a tad and also to give my kitties a place to sleep that’s not my forehead. I can check for brand later if you’d like.

Still love that baby jacket and those socks look nice!

I use the same kind Michelle does and love it. Got mine at Target for $20–probably not as nice as hers… Good luck!
