Ridiculous Delays
I know this entry was a long time coming. I don’t even really have a reason except that I have been super social lately and very busy. Lame, I know!
So what is going on with my knitting world? Well, I’ve had to put all my yarn and my spinning wheel in storage. It may seem like that is a bad thing, but it’s not as rough as I would have thought. Partly because I still have my spindles. Right now I am working on some llama down I bought at Rhinebeck. It’s soooo soft and glorious, I want to rub it all over myself. I would, except that I actually plan to use this yarn one day and that kind of overrides my desire to ruin the fiber by just smothering myself with it.
This is a Greensleeves spindle and it’s my largest. I would love to get all this fiber into one continuous strand. Sooo soft. Everyone should be spinning llama.
Another weird side effect of having most of my earthly possessions in storage is a bit more embarrassing. I seem to be acquiring what I can only call a “secondary stash”. It’s a little perverse, actually. I won’t go into full disclosure here, despite how much better it would make you feel about your own yarn purchasing habits, and will instead share only my favourite additions to my new stash.
Meet Terra. It’s GORGEOUS. I am so in love with this yarn that I paid a stupid price for it. When I should be saving all my pennies up for new furniture and retirement I am spending them on this glorious, beautiful, breathtaking yarn. I LOVE IT. That is an understatement. It’s perfect. Terra is 60% Merino, 20% Baby Alpaca, 20% Silk. Ahhhh. Perfection. Buy some, it’s worth it.
I also picked up some Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool. I don’t think I need to sing this yarns praises, you already know how awesome it is, right?
And what crazy yarn shopping spree would be complete without some luscious baby camel yarn?
I know. It’s all really nice stuff. But I needed it! I was in emotional distress from separating from my yarn and only new yarn could fill the lonely, dark hole inside me. I’m going to stop showing yarn now, before you think I am insane. You know you would have all done the same thing. Or maybe some of you would have been responsible in times of stress… Nahhhh, you would have all done the same thing.
Next time, things I’ve knit!

So I get putting the wheel in storage, but ALL the yarn??? Man. I would totally do what you’re doing by buying more. I love the Silky Wool color. Is it gray or really silver? Hopefully I can get fit into your busy schedule soon!

Stupid price? I was curious what that might be, so I checked the retail price of Terra. OK, yeah, pricey, but look at this:
