Well, I have some news. Possibly big news. It’s definitely weird and life changing. On Thursday afternoon I was laid off from my job that I have only had for five months.

I am disappointed, and it feels very surreal to just not have to do anything. However, I am not worried financially as I have severance pay and I also qualify for unemployment insurance. I suppose more than anything, I am slightly bored. I have taken and extra week on my Canada vacation, and now if I can’t cross the border back into America it won’t be as important as I don’t really have a job I am coming back to. Although I am sure my husband might be upset.

The effect of having no job has had on my knitting has been phenomenal! I’ve been finishing odds and ends like a lunatic, and I even finished the Cherie sweater. Well, almost.

It sure looks done, though, doesn’t it? Except the buttons that close the collar have not yet been attached. They have not yet even been picked. I can’t decide. It’s either plastic buttons (that look a lot like GHOSTS!) or metal buttons that are very delicate and pretty.

Hrm.

OR:

I think I tend to the metal ones because I love metal, I like the colour (shade) grey, and there are three of them instead of two. Three just seems better.
