The Socks, The Yarns
Last night I went out for dinner with a knitting friend I haven’t seen in a long time. We chat, caught up, and bitched about whatever we felt like. Generally a fantastic time that was long overdue.
It’s strange, at times I feel so behind in my life and like there are so many loose ends. Anytime that the world seems to be out pacing me, I tend to finish up a lot of knitting. Maybe it’s my weird way of trying to get all my ducks in a row. Whatever the case, the Aquaphobia Socks are complete, and I just need to get the pattern ready for the test knitters.
I really like them and I hope you guys do too, when the pattern is up and ready.
I’ve also been spinning, not any of the new Rhinebeck fibre, but some of the fibre of the month from Spunky Eclectic. It’s a merino tencel blend and it’s very soft and slippery!
I’ve also.. bought some things. I know. But I needed them! Honest! Also, I got a deal.
Some GGH Merino Soft in Chocolate, and also one in white. I plan on making some Selbuvotter mittens out of them:
Some more tofutsies:
Some more Wildfoote, which will go with the white I already had to possibly make more Selbu mittens:
For real, I need to go on a stash-only diet. I have too much to spin, too much to knit, too much just… waiting. It’s not fair to leave the yarns I do have just sitting there lamenting about their uselessness in my stash while I go off in search of new pretties to knit with. All my yarns are great, and they deserve to be knitted. So really, stash diet. I swear. No more buying. I will let you know now though, that I already purchased some fibre from ebay that is coming in, and I am a member of two fibre clubs, so those don’t count. Other than that, I can not buy stuff. Oh god, this is going to be so hard. I might need to stock up on some booze to get through this. Let’s say that after Christmas I can buy myself goodies again, but not before.
I also got the October Spunky Club fibre in, it’s called “Goblin Eye’s” and it’s super fun! 4 oz. of Romney. Can’t wait to start spinning it!
And yes, I started a new project. Can anyone guess what it is? There may be a prize in it for you! For those of you that KNOW what this is because I have told you, no telling! Play nice.

The socks are absolutely gorgeous! Can’t wait to see the pattern.
No idea what you’re working on, though.

One of these days I will win one of your prizes! Unfortunately, I already know what you’re making, and I ordered yarn to make one for myself. :o)

Yay Aquaphobia socks!!
Hm, I don’t know what you are knitting… a scarf??

Uh-oh. Should I know what it is? Is it a scarf of some sort? Do you want a specific pattern? We should get together on a yarn diet thing that still leave space open for me to buy more sweater yarn when I use up what I have.

i’ll guess a hat because of the ribbing on the bottom, and I always like using interesting textures and yarns for them
