What I Wouldn’t Do…
…for just several hours of sleep. I am exhausted and so damn busy. I just can’t seem to get a break. Which is why, of course, I haven’t managed to make an entry lately. My apologies.
Well, the mitts and the hats are done, mailed, and received. I was in such a rush that I didn’t have a chance to take pictures. The recipient has assured me that she will take pictures this weekend (and will also include some items she received a while ago).
I am working madly away on all the knits I mentioned in my last post. The cami will be nothing, I am mostly done the finishing. The child mitts are pretty much done except for the decorative aspects and the certainty the father will need to provide me by measuring his son’s hands. And the wrap. Well, the wrap is seemingly not moving a single inch.
I know it will be so pretty when it’s finished. I can imagine how soft and luxurious it will feel when I can finally slide the sleeves on and wrap the rectangles of smooth alpaca around me. I can also imagine this not being until I am seventy years old at the rate I am knitting. While it is my only travel knitting project at the moment, it does take a while to make some progress.
Because I am not exactly “excited” about anything I am knitting at the moment, this past weekend I decided to do some things that have been nagging at me. I lined and strengthened my favourite pair of mittens and then I worked on this:
I know it doesn’t look like much. And it isn’t at the moment. But it is the second version of the Road to Golden. This one will not be shrunk and will be knit with some side shaping to take the pooch out from under my chest. There is nothing worse than ribcage poof on a chesty gal, especially when you’re wearing something knitted. You see here two sleeves and the beginnings of the front and back (which will soon be joined). It would be fantastic to have this finished before the new year, but I have serious doubts. High hopes though!
I have time off coming up and the thought of that excites me so much it’s scary. Think of all the knitting I will get done! There will be more blogging in the future folks, just give me until the weekend to catch my breath and hit a couple holiday parties.
