Where did it go?

I don’t know what happened to this last week, but it’s hard to imagine that I lived the whole thing and was aware of it the whole time. I think I zoned out.

There has been progress on the baby blanket, but it is the same thing over and over again so I will forego a picture of it. You do get to see some new purchases, though! I know, it’s really sad but I can’t seem to walk into a yarn store without buying something.

Yarn Stash - Malabrigo

This is a crazy ass hank of Malabrigo in the colourway “Vaa”. It’s SPECTACULAR. I don’t think I have ever seen yarn with quite the variations this has. It looks black in some lights, green-ish in others, and blue it yet others. It’s fantastic and my only regret is that I could only find one hank of it. I’m going to have to keep my eye out for more of this. Maybe I need a Malabrigo sweater. Mmmm.

My other purchase isn’t exactly exciting. Just some green sock yarn, Trekking Pro Natura (wool/bamboo) in green. Still yummy though!

But you didn’t come here to see what I bought, did you? You must have came here for this instead:

Cheesy Ocean Scarf

the finished Cheesy Ocean Scarf. I know that two months might seem like a ridiculous amount of time to wait before taking FO pics, but it’s really hard to take pics of knitting when I have so much stash to photograph. Heh. This was knit with the Swiss Cheese Scarf pattern and two hanks of lace weight Malabrigo. It’s soft and squish and about eight feet long! Not exactly a knit for the faint of heart and I wouldn’t do it again. Eight feet of constantly casting on and off stitches in lace weight is more than I can take beyond just once. But I love it, and it was worth it. Because it’s Malabrigo, it’s starting to fuzz a little. I actually planned that it was going to fuzz a little and I think it will just add a more “hazy” feel to the scarf, blending the colour variations in. So in this case, the fuzz is preferable.

Cheesy Ocean Scarf

By the end of next winter this is going to be perfectly blended with it’s fuzz. Just like cheese, it is getting better with age. Yummy!

You have more patience than me with that scarf. And that’s some pretty yarn!
