In addition, the rule was that when I tied the yarn together, there could not be two of the same color after each other. I put all the pieces of yarn in a bag and then fished them out randomly – one by one – and tied them together.

The yarn I’ve used is regular 8/4 cotton, but any yarn will work – as long as it matches in thickness and needle size. It’s important to choose yarns that match in thickness so that the finished product has a uniform texture and appearance.
